    Taupo deerstalker range today

Took a few of my rifles out to the range this Avo. Had the place to myself!
Tried my new/old Browning semi .22, got a group at 50metres just it was low and hung right! But at leased it shoots and is under 15 rounds. The 500 BPE group well at 50 metres with the right barrel, but buggered if I know where the left goes and 4 shots is enough of the pain!
The Kimber 223 with Norma ammo was average, but that’s just 223, good enough for a deer!
The Sako 6.5 x 55 is always a joy, what a great accurate set up!

    Nice.

I took my Sako 75 .223 to Auckland Deerstalkers last weekend.
Had to rezero it after playing scope swapsies with my ‘prohibited’ evil guns.
First clean barrel shot after bore sighting was 4 inches left and low for a 200m zero.
Adjusted for height and windage right.
Boom. Next 3 shots at 0.33 MOA.
Took it back left one click after that.
    200m zero done.
    Job sorted.

Everybody with a 223 handloads for accuracy, I think, the 6.5 I shot there was off the shelf S&Belliot.

With the 223, a couple of questions for you. What is the twist rate of the Kimber? And what grain bullet in the ammo? The reason I ask is I have a 1:12 twist 223 B/A that will shoot 32gr, 40gr, 50gr and some 55gr brilliantly. Same POI at 100m and all very close to each other, but if I load anything over 55gr (69gr or 75s etc) or most of the 55gr about, then my groups open from Half minute of rabbit to minute of deer. (Clover leaf at 100 to 4" at 100.)

It may be that you need a different weight bullet in the load for it.
