Theres an italian brand which are real nice. They are also a fraction of the weight of tbe limbsavers which are damn heavy.

Ken Henderson uses these italian pads on his CF stocks, ive recently fitted one to a very light weight fibreglass model 7 stock.

Im just heading away hunting but will try to find the brand later

    Hi Dazzh
I have a parker hale 30-06 on which I replaced the hard plastic butt plate with a Limbsaver, the reduction in felt recoil was very noticeable (and appreciated) and the muzzle jump has been tamed a little as well. I
t wasn't hard to shape to the shape of the butt and it looks good. The rifle is not suppressed either which tests the ear muffs at the range.

Thanks for the info. It's good to hear real life experience.

As you get older and struggle to control your mighty magnum, maybe you could shoot a lighter projectile? Or burn a bit less powder? Or just stick to carrying out other peoples deer (like those with bung shoulders)!

I have put limbsavers on two rifles, one a sako...they do a very effective job, but they melt and go real tacky rather quickly...won't be putting on any more..

Yeah, I'm not wanting another melter. I think the pads GWH was talking about are the Microcell ones, I've had one on a shotgun and they are nice. I'm leaning toward that

Stick with the tacky one. It will match the rifle.

It was the guy with the bung shoulder that carried out his last deer.

Bung a supressor on the front. Will almost eliminate muzzle jump, and will soak up felt recoil considerably too.

Then flapper disc the sticky bits off the existing limb saver

If you can find a gunsmith that will fit one, its worth it. There are also plenty of do it your self videos. Not sure if you have a good one in Tauranga, maybe DPT in Hamilton might be able to help.
