Knew a bloke with a Winchester 100 in 284 (rare as the proverbial),pretty mint last time I saw it.
Not sure he still has it
Gonna be hard to see that go in the mincer.
This is the dumbest shit ever.

Viva la Howa ! R.I.P. Toby | Black rifles matter... | #illegitimate_ute
had to like it so I could UNLIKE that...what a waste, criminal to destroy a piece of history like that....oh no thats right the current bunch of cardigan wearing, hand wringing, tree hugging, pot smoking, braindead morons have made it illegal to keep one.....
surely the dies and brass HAVE to be paid for as well???because you CANT use them for anything other than an illegal firearm??? did anyone even make a rifle chambered for cartridge other than in semi???challenge them to find one.....or pay up chump.... plurry bunch of muppets.
No. As far as I know they're not paying for anything other than the rifle and certain accessories.
I have a small bit of ammo that is unusable in anything other than an m1 carbine.
Others have posted how they have at least 1000 bucks per rifle of things that can't be used for anything else but will just be mementos from the good old days.
Fair and reasonable. Where's the Tui ad.
Here’s my other ‘late’ Winchester...
Both superb classical sporting centrefires...
I cant LIKE that being destroyed.... I surely hope you ran portable angle grinder through it after they had agreed to pay for it...although it would be better if it DID fall out of scap bin into a collection.....a plurry travestry....I really dont like what this clusterfuck of a govt is doing to my country...not one little bit.
I seem to recall AR or AK stuff with that printed on them were going to be paid for...same difference...IF the rifle is illegal now and the dies/cases/ammo CANNOT be used in another legal firearm....well it is then a illegal rifle specific assessory so needs to be paid for.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
An old friend of mine had a Winchester 100 semi in 308 years ago. It was in pretty good nick from memory. No idea if he still has it. I would've tried to buy it off him if I had the coin.
Another old school mates dad had a Winchester 401 SL.
Been restocked in wood from old bridge beams (cant remember the bridge-Greymouth road bridge maybe?), so probably an aussie hardwood. Only saw it the once 30 odd years ago but its the only one I ever saw and it is something I would remember. I seem to remember the wood having some yellow colour to it.
I would not be happy handing that in to the squasher. It was a pretty little thing
Stopped this thread half way through. Just makes me fucking sad.
They are destroying art.

Mindless vandalism. Tragic in the extreme.

Such a waste to destroy craftsmanship like that
On the topic of picking up unusual brass, I once found a 9mm Luger shell about 30m off the beach in Lake Wanaka. Out for a swim, see something shiny in the water, hmm what's that...
Wow... two very stunning guns and in great condition!
What's the story and history on each gun?
Tragic… tragic that those guns and any gun for that matter is being destroyed!
