    I have been using 6mm mild for my rimfire gongs and not a mark on them yet(apart from testing them with a 223 at 200 and 350m)

    Even with hmr wmr up close?
    Generally speaking it is impact velocity that marks up plates rather than caliber or grains(generalization)

    used 22mag at 50m 30g vmax on the small plates hanging on chain and no marks. didnt try closer than that. 17h2 hardly mad them move.
