Did you have to get it on the approved list if firearms? How hard was that?

I am in a retail shop. The nz importers have put it through the approved import list process

Yes totally agree, 9mm's seem to be expensive, probably like most things due to lack of demand/volume . It's the specialised lower you need to take the glock mags as needs to be wider. Other parts are ok, fit 9mm barrel to normal upper and 9mm bolt.

I have PC9 Takedown carbines landing in a few weeks. They will include Glock conversion kits and a couple of 7 rd mags. Will have prices closer to landing time.

Mp5's are full-auto and super-short, right? I guess you could legally do so if you had C category endoursement but even then you wouldn't be allowed to shoot it.

And as to not sounding easy, I wouldn't know where to begin in doing such a thing.

Those new Ruger carbines look like a good option if you don't have you heart set on an AR platform. Take-down like the take-down 10/22, and comes with inserts for both Glock and Ruger mags, their PC9 carbines are scarce but kinda have a cult following, I know a guy with two or three in different calibres and loves them, this reiteration/reintroduction of them looks promising

Just applied for an import permit for some of these. No need for a dedicated lower.
