Been using Sako ammo with the 165gr sierra gamechanger in my rem mag but not many left and hard to get now and want to save them for hunting, and also wanting to participate in a couple of nzda range shoots coming up so bought some Federal blue box 175 gr to try.
Well was pleasantly surprised with this 3 shot group at 100yds, i didn't push my luck though and try and repeat it again LOL.
They shot to the same POI at 100yds as the sako ammo so thats a bonus, as next roar going to be mostly bush hunting and i recon those 175 gr pills will be good stag medicine up close .

Yep blue box is great with my tikka 308, getting scarce as hens teeth.... Anybody use a different flavour of factory ammo with similar results? Thanks

Try Hornady Whitetail. I've substituted that in .270win in a Tikka and had same accuracy and POI.

+1 for the whitetail (and they work on whitetail) not quite as good as above but plenty good enough for hunting out to 200m+

Just as a note - .308 Hornady whitetail is pretty scarce at the moment too it seems. I picked some up at HnF in Albany a week or so ago when I was up there - they had stacks. I'm beginning hand loading for the .308 but good to have stock of the factory ammo I've been using. I have found the projectiles to be a bit hard compared to federal and Sierra Gamekings however.

That thing is a laser. Hold it close and NEVER sell it!
Might even be worth getting a reloader to check the distance from the lands to your rack ammo projectiles. Tikkas normally like a fair bit of jump. But those results are worth recording mate. Well done. Nobody accidentally pulls that off.
