6.5 rifles were practically unknown in NZ at the time the chart was published. That changed in the mid 1980's when loads of surplus M96 and M38 rifles were imported priced at $100.00 and $120.00 respectively or $200.00 for one of each. Use the .270 and .284 data for the Creedmoor and the 7mm Rem Mag data for anything stronger. That really does say it all doesn"t it.
    Regards Grandpamac.

Re my 45-70 I just ran that strelok $19 one (prem?) and to
my surprise it suggested 120y for a good hunting zero. I've been a Applied Ballistics fan up until now but strelok has hunting scopes listed, better reticle visuals and bullets THAT I USE. Kinda handy.
Seeings how i bought a 1.5-4x28 with plain old duplex ret its good to see where to aim on the deer to drop the bullet into the vitals

@sheep if you start at 25 once your onthe dot, then go out to 172 as Gandpamac said. Save to the ammo and a bit of walking. I take it your hunting the Kaimias? you might want to site in at 5 then

I zero for 50m in dense bush. At 5m, it's just under an inch low, so good to go for 5-50m. Do the get the opportunity to shoot any further most of the time.

If i ever get a 200m shot apparently im putting the hairs in line with the top of its back... middle of the chest for 150y and 50-100y is right at the killzone. Thats an awesome app! Cheers for suggesting that.

I zero everything at 200m, it means I'm pretty close to getting MPBR out of my rifles and the target is set up there anyway.

With a little bit of holdover 0-300m shots are no problem.

Like with MB i zero in at 50m for bush since all of the crap I stalk in is so dense. Animals usually within 50m, and I don't shoot in more open country so i never have to worry about longer shots.

Of course if you switch between locations 100m as baseline is best i think.

Yeah between the eyes from 30m is what I had last visit. Would prefer the nice big broadside target but it wasn't an option and it was almost dark so took my chance with the head shot. Thankfully was on point. Instant drop. It was an ugly looking result, not good for photos! But really good for perfect shoulder meat.

Had a young stag playing peekaboo on Monday, we could only see his head and a bit of neck at 40m. I probably would have taken the shot, but not an viable option for the young fella on the rifle.
