Aussie building a 243AI. Hello from over the ditch.

Hello all, I'm Luke and I live in Far North Qld Australlia.

I am currently building a 243AI on a Sako 85 action using one of your amazing True-FLite tubes. I'm pretty excited to be honest.

I have been sneaking around on this site for years because it is relevant to what I do and I like the information found here.

I have hunted a couple of times in NZ and will absolutely be back as soon as the world settles down a bit..

Anyway, I look forward to learning from you all and thank you in advance.

    Luke

Jaco that's awesome news. I am totally new to the chambering so I have a LOT to learn.

I am neck turning some new Lapua brass today, I probably don't need to but I am doing it anyway whilst I wait for the build to be finished.

Any advice or experience you can offer would be truly valuable.

I will probably put up a post in a more relevant section but will search a bit first.

    Regards and thanks.

    Luke

Have you got detail on the neck of your Smith's reamer? If not I'd hold fire on turning until you do.
243AI is a cool calibre. I ran mine with 2217 and 105A-max. Really accurate.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

    Welcome
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
