Hey all, I'm from Auckland but work in Singapore and usually back for several months in the year (definitely summer!)
I've been shooting a while... starting with spring air rifles more than 35 years ago (joys of a big backyard in those days!), eventually getting into .22 and even a stint in 3 Gun.
These days, I mostly shoot possums with a .22 LR (got a nice CZ 457) or my HW95 springer.
I enjoy .22 and air guns since I can shoot them a lot in most places and quiet. That's also why I like archery (recurve mostly, but also compound) and crossbows (Excalibur recurves).
When I used to live in NZ was a member of the Waitakere Small Game shooters in west Auckland, great for practicing positional fundamentals and North Harbour Airgun (practice offhand and positional). I visited recently and boy my shooting skill has declined badly!!
I'm planning on spending some more time back in NZ and going after some slightly bigger game (goats, wallabies).... been toying with a simple 7.62x39 bolt action. Cheap to shoot and accurate enough.
Would love to get into long range precision rifle and reloading, but that might have to be during retirement
BTW if anyone is planning on visiting Singapore, let me know.. happy to connect with fellow shooters and provide some local tips.
Cheers,
Daniel
