Welcome along
Thanks to everyone for the welcome.
We're target shooting .22s with the Wallingford club, part of the Southern Hawke's Bay Smallbore Rifle Assoc. (I think I have that right!) We have tried 308s once, but it was the last meet of the season; our daughter was with us then and did very well. That does mean we're restricted on calibre in use, but... Is there a .22 rifle better suited to target and game shooting? (I appreciate boar and venison are off the menu for now.)
And yes - turkey casserole/curry/pie does taste so much better than they look in the field!
never thought much of shotguns till I surprised a mob of turkeys over a hillock. Side by side. Two shots multiple dead turkeys. New respect for shot guns. Air rifles at moment. Could be a good option for the next 12 months for you. They take skill to shoot. Hone in your stalking and hunting skills and don't need a licence if not pcp. I'm enjoying them to the max. Anyway welcome aboard.
