Intro from a dabbler, turned committed hunter

    Hi there,

Over the last 6 months this forum has been coming up on a lot of my Google searches, most recently how to bleach skulls for display. So I decided to join up and then due to family, work and lots of hunting I never got around to an intro post.

I'm from Canterbury, and have had my FAL for a few years. Because of having a young family I only got out for a hunt with an experienced friend once a year.

We put a lot of work into getting our daughter into the outdoors from a young age and it's starting to pay off now. She can handle some pretty solid hiking missions and it's meant that I've been able to get out hunting a whole lot more!

Once I've done my mandatory 5 posts then I can post some pictures. But this year we've got a decent-sized pig, quite a few goats and had some cool encounters with deer... though didn't pull the trigger on any. All animals taken with the 308 Vanguard which seems to do the job.

    Thanks all

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Cheers Micky, yes really keen to head down to wallaby country. Is there are particular time of year that's best? I've heard they're pretty nocturnal and you get them on the change of light. Fallow is definitely on the bucket list too!
