    welcome.....
    thought the difference between lying and laying was more like what you are doing and what is being done to someone/something.....
    i.e "lying on the floor" or "my dog is outside laying a cable"

    to be fair i only got 56% in school c english ..... not my strong point so i reserve the right to be wrong

    A long time ago I'm sure I did some lying so I could do some laying

    A long time ago when I had just graduated from Teacher's Training college, I used to date a very beautiful English teacher.

    She dumped me however:

    She didn’t like my improper use of the colon.
