Welcome aboard, as that cartridge has been around for nearly 60 years there should be a fair wodge of info around by now.
Surprised its not more popular really, as it packs a noticeable punch for its weight when using the right projectiles. By this, I mean 55gr in a 223 vs 75gr in a 6x45 when shooting lighter animals like goats. Both are travelling at a similar velocity around 3100fps.
Yep,as with cheese good things take time, the 22 varminter took 50 years to go mainstream as the 22 250.
