    morning everyone,
just thought i would introduce myself on this lovely Saturday morning.
So good morning to ya! im Mackenzie Sharp from rotorua (most people just call me macka) my FAL arrived about a week ago so im looking at finally getting into hunting ,
I have no background on hunting what so ever ,but have already been soaking up heaps of information from the web and this forum cheers!
I have a lot to learn but that's no problem eh!? so if anyone has any tips etc feel free to share em!

im not looking to steal anyone spots, but if you could point me in the direction of places to hunt (deer, pigs, goats) around rotorua or bop, that would be awesome for me , or better yet if your going for a hunt around the rotorua are let me tag along to observe and learn (deer, pigs, goats)

Cheers everyone have a good weekend

    G'day MackaS

Welcome to the best Hunting & Shooting Forum on the net.

There's a few members based in the Rotorua area who I'm sure will be along shortly.

As a new hunter and firearms owner Can I suggest you also join a hunting or shooting club like the NZDA.
There you will find like minded members who would be more than happy to show you the ropes and get you started on your Hunting/Shooting career.

NZDA run a Hunts course where you can learn some seriously good skills
    HUNTS | Hunter Training

Here's a link to your local NZDA branch
NZ Deerstalkers Association - Rotorua Branch | Hunting, shooting, advocacy.

Look forward to reading some posts of your adventures.

    Cheers
    Pete

Welcome Macka. Living in Rotorua you have a great deal of good hunting very close by. Go in and have a chin wag at a local NZDA meeting as Pete has suggested.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms

Another member for the Rotorua chapter!, welcome along.

I spend a fair bit of time wandering aimlessly about the lakes, when time allows I might be able to take you out. Do you mind the rain?
