New member and new to Tauranga region (novice big game hunter)

    Hey team.

New to the region and ready to check out a few spots around the area. Iv moved from Taranaki and have done a fair bit of goat hunting and small game. I’m ready to have a crack at some deer. Currently running a tika t3x .308

Living in Te Puke and have read a few forums about the Papamoa hills DOC land. Any tips or hints for access would be greatly appreciated if willing to share. I have the nztopo50 maps which show trails but unsure of the land and terrain. Will be going out for a walk in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

Also attending the NZDA meeting Tuesday the 18th of June to meet some new people in the scene and soak up any helpful info. Is it worth joining?

    Thanks in advance guys!!

Welcome in. Its steep but you just need to go do some miles. Few roads to get you going would be Manoeka, Number 3 rd and Quarry rd
