Short film "The Hunt" looking for game

    Hi

We are a film team producing a short called The Hunt in Raglan on January 5-7 2021.

In the story, our two first-time hunters stumble upon a deer in the woods, its open stomach stuffed with bars of gold.

We are looking for a deer, ideally gutted and not yet taxidermied (limp), for our main role! We are keen to connect with anyone who has ideas.. or maybe a taxidermy that didn't go quite right that we could soften up.

Be happy to hear from anyone with leads! We can collect from the Auckland or Waikato areas.

You are wanting a freshly killed deer that may go to waste?

Surely there will be a couple on here putting up there hand up for the broke back mountain scene.
If the meat is kept chilled and only used for a couple of scenes still be all good to eat depending on how hot it is on the day

Ha yes! We were originally looking for a taxidermy that was maybe a botched job or unwanted that we could dress with fake guts..

A taxidermist want have a full body animal, a taxidermist will only have a head and head skin. there is a taxidermist down hawkes bay that seems to stuff heads up and head skins.

I know what you are asking but most guys that go hunting want the animal for meat for the freezer or for there friends freezer. And for most they work real hard to shoot a deer and carry it out.

yea ,my suggestion would be to contact a deer farmer(possibly thru stock agent?if no better hookups)and buy what you want from them at the schedule price.
I guess you would need to make clear you want a dead one(s)
Supplied a few myself in the past to various productions but different circumstances now so no practical help for you.
