Thread: Tarawera info if you can please....

I hunt the Kaimanawas, some old fella tells me that there is some hot pools by the TARAWERA pub somewhere on SH5, can anybody give me all the info please.....

Turn left at the car park and follow the track through the gate and across the grass. Park on the flat and walk down the track to the concrete pools. Usually they are empty, put in the plug and wait to fill, remove the plug when you leave.
I have just looked on Walking access map system it shows a car parked much further along the track and at the start of the walking track. When I was last there it was very wet so we left the car at the top. The two pools are easly seen if you zoom in, it is public access.

Cheerz John..that'll find it...I also often stop at Buthchers Pool just south of Reperoa on Broadlands road.....three weeks ago met two German backpackers camping there!!
