You have been to Antarctica AND Ushuaia... so unfair. I only got to see the inside of the Ushuaia airport. Outside looked beautiful.

The last bit sounds strangely familiar..

Also a bit further north but still Patagonia (Argentine side) is San Carlos de Bariloche, that would have to be one of the most awesome places I have been over there, which reminds me.... @hotsoup I have some contact details for you

Mar Del Plata would be my pick for a holiday destination with the missus in Arge tho your missus being semi local would have better suggestions I am sure.
Spent more time there than anywhere else (all working so tied to a port but quite a bit of shore time rebuilding factory's)

BA impressive for its size and shear number of dogs roaming the streets but otherwise a shithole like every other city I have visited.

Puerto desiardo is an amazing shit hole also or it least it was.....this is all 18-20 years ago ,Ushuaia at that time tho called the southern most city in the world was smaller than our local Richmond a suburb of Nelson....google now shows it has grown somewhat....even back then it was heavily geared to tourism but the locals were awesome....same same Mar Del Plata

You need to get a fair distance away from BA and you will find the argys aren't such a bad bunch after all, whilst I wouldn't go as far as using the word hate they are the most arrogant and patriotic (like americans times 100 patriotic...) people you will ever come across, get down south and it's a different world. We have quite a few friends living here from Argentina and I can finish any "friendly" argument by mentioning Las Malvinas, shit gets real serious every time haha

Oh yes that is a very sore point!

I never spent any time in BA other than overnight print and tag stuff time fortunately and like any other place in the world, here especially the further from the citys you get and the more lower working class you get the better the people are!
Better than here even or it was back then...things change tho and its been a long time.
