I would never do that twoshot, but it was very windy the day before, and a few branches may have snapped off!!

Damn - never thought of that. It did get a bit tricky though. I knew the river was up a bit, and I lost my usual crossing point due to the extra water. It took us an hour to just cross the river (which was dropping). I was almost at the point of calling it off when we recognised a rock in the middle of the river where we usually cross. It was a bit hairy, but together we made it. By the time we gutted the one at the bottom and slid the other down the slip, boned them out and cooled the meat, the river had dropped by 300-400mm, and that made all the difference getting back.
The carry out was the usual shit. I crawled up the steep bits like an old Austin 7 (old shit car for you younguns), but plenty of rests and any excuse to stop and chat about the scenery did the trick.
I did feel a bit funny posting the video, but if there is one thing I have learnt with age, is that patience really can be a virtue. Beats bush bashing any day if you need venison.

Thanks Gibo. I will take those ones. I doubt if my camera will be working when the next miss comes along

That is a bloody good reply Lentil but after watching the vid and reading this shows how hard the recovery was.
