We had a visitor to our section last night. You can see the neighbors house in the background.

I got a few photos and then he sensed something was up, emptied his bladder, and walked off into the bush with that high stepping "somethings not right" gait.

I was downloading some video off my handheld thermal, and was amazed the detail you get out of these 640x512 units. Even the subtle difference of temp of a painted model number shows up.
Didn't seem right when I was looking at it, but I only have the NV and the thermal, and the NV was in the picture.

Definitely one of the best ones I have tried. The large handle makes using it really simple, and if needed you can really crank down on it. This is only the 40mm version, as I didn't think I needed the weight rating of the 60mm one for a light weight 22lr.

I had a cool encounter with a hind just before dark last night. She knew something was up but approached to about 20m of me and then walked off straight past our tent.
