    Charger is a real good one (8 bank one cost about 150$) has "soft charge option etc.

    Thermal - also my thing - I found that the rechargeable won’t fit into the Thermal (I have Apex Pulsar XD50)
    I use the external Bat pack on it. I had a XQ38 that uses AA - but I did not try rechargeable in it
    Have a Xq30V Lite coming end of week - was meant to get a XQ50F Helion also - but hard to get - big back orders all over Europe etc for all the XP Helions etc

    With the GPRS - they hog battery compared to normal log/store SD Card cameras - they have SMS option that allows you to control the functions via cell phone (turn off - or cahnge to videio - its pic/vid size etc etc) this feature alones uses alot of power as it is on 24/7 - but you can turn it off.
