I went up 67gn, no pressure signs… it felt like a really mild charge compared to what I was getting with factory ammo… I am at the 4th firing on some of the brass, primer pocket getting loose but are still ok. Again nothing as bad as some of the factory ammo.
I think you are correct about large vs magnum large. A mate using H1000 with large instead magnum is also couple of gn past max charge
Having less jump seems also to reduce pressure. I tested 60th (like factory 180) with same charge and was getting 2960-2970fps and slight ejector marks
Dont rule out large rifle primers either if you have some I used them in my 7mm blaser mag to with greater results and the same in my 7LRM wasnt until over 70gns that I started seeing the benefits of the magnum. I use federals
Nice work, yip iv being guilty of ruening groups on the last shot by being cocky with how the first few shots landed haha
I had a nod at 20, 25, 30 so settled for 30th so it keep shooting well after a bit of throat erosion. It seems to be barrel/powder type, charge dependent, heard some people finding sweet spot at 120th other kissing the land. Factory 180 eldm is also at 60th in my barrel and does ok.
Interesting. Every rifles going to be different i guess but from my experience, using FED215 which is whats used for hornady data, book max has definitely been max in my rifle for 2225 2217 and RL26
