    Sorry Toby.
I thought I had replied or PMed you but it looks like I didn't push the buttons in the right order again

Not many 7mmSTWs available in factory rifles, there are a few reamers around.

IMHO the 7-375 Ruger is a better bet, same speed, less powder, easy mag fit

I have two reamers, a short throat for Tikka T3 & longer throat for Rem 700.

Done a couple now last one was 3200 ish from 24" barrel, 1st one was 3250 from 25.5" barrel.

I suspect KG could put together a rifle in his 7-375 cheaper than you could find a factory rifle in 7mm RUM.
Look at the velocity he is getting on the 162Amax not much reason to go beyond that.
I'd certainly look hard at it if the urge to shoot things 'way to god over there' got hold.

The 7mm Rum has a nasty habit of wearing it's self out pretty quick.

    ADI data

    162 out at 3225 with 95gr 2225 7mmRum

Would probably go a bit faster but you can see how much more powder it uses.

More power, more heat = less throat life

Oh shit, Thanks for that, saved me some dough. After my .233 that 7mm RUM was what I was thinking about. So how much would the 7-375 set me back if I was to go that way.

It depends on the specification, ie, fluted bolt, barrel, stock, etc.
They can be built on a 7mm Rem Mag.
    This one was around $3000

Built on a Tikka it would be cheaper

The one in the thread is a Rem 700.

The Tikka is cheaper because it doesn't need a stock.

That Rum is a nice price, with a great brake it would be fine
