Sauce doesn't have to cover everything.

I like the 'purest' cooked steak, however a wee dunk in a nice sauce every third bite, just adds another flavour.
And the cheese sauce with mashed potato or brocolli as a side, sounds great. And the frypan scrapings as well added.... Very nice.

And the casserole, with mashed potatoes, and the cheese sauce... Mid winter bliss.

I guess, the big comment is-how ever you enjoy veni (or other food) do it. But also try other ways as well.

But usually when someone serves you up some of their favourite concoction you need to ask what the f.... you just ate. Because it is covering everything.
Agreed and also dislike when people do this.

I'm not one of those people that must have everything separated on their plate (the corn can't touch the potatoes etc...) but I'm real close! I like to mix and match by the fork load, other wise the whole plate just tastes the same, every mouthful.....

but thats the whole beauty of the forum - hell if we were all polka dotted be boring -but ya do have to accept the simple fact that blue cheese sauce would not be a general choice for kiwi hunters

I have no trouble with trying something new.... and appreciate others like thier steak differently to me..heck my wife wont eat fallow and I need to incinerate her steak for her...but she eats it all.
Ive known people who have watties tomato sauce on everything including icecream!!!!
I was in no way having a go at you @JesseYoung not at all.... I appreciate a good steak on its own, masterfoods mild steak seasoning is my go to seasoning, and the garlic version is pretty good too.... I love mushrooms too...but Mrs not so keen so a mushy sauce is out for me.... I would definately try some on a lesser cut of meat, but yeah a bit of a steak snob these days...when its good I like it standing alone,if that makes sence???mixed on the fork as has been said above... now mushrooms, egg n chips I have no issue with LOL....spot the truck driver???
and the short/correct answer is bacon goes with everything
hmmm bacon and blue cheese sauce, you might be onto something there.

Some meat and the waybit was cooked needs a good sauce, cutting fuild you might say if it's been cooked with no love.

I do like a good sauce and will certainly be trying this blue cheese one soon. Can't go past a nice creamy mushroom sauce so might have to blend the two and send you some @Micky Duck

I absolutely detest blue cheese, but management loves it. She takes great pleasure in getting the stinkiest manckiest stuff she can find then tucks in beside me.

She likes the sound of your recipe so might give it a go.
