Just came back from a trip down south, took a few lads for a stag do out the back of a big station my cousin manages. Knocked over a nice eel in the Clarence while down for a swim and one of boys shot a big hare.
Boned out the hare and eel and coated everything in flour and cooked in a heap of butter....well bugger me if it wasn't the nicest bloody meal I've had in a long time.
Used to bugger around trying to de-slime eels, now I just cut around the skin on the head and peel the whole skin off like sleeve with my Leatherman. Fillet them out and good to go.
Really couldn't get over how good the hare was as well, only had the back legs as the rest had been ruined by the poo seventy at 20 metres.
