If it wasn’t for a broken exhaust stud that I had forgotten about I reckon it would be just about rideable by tomorrow
Hopefully get it all done next week.

What's your approach regarding those welded on nuts that are now filled with Galv?

Tap them out, hence all the clean up work.

Is it just a re-galv on otherwise sound parts @Shootm or are you replacing bits of the frame? I see heaps of second hand ones for sale with rusted out frames, wondering if they might be salvageable (your next winter project )

Try and start with a reasonable frame and cut out any rust. Worst I’ve done is replace the whole bottom of a frame, never again it is to much work cutting, bending etc. Half the second hand ones have frames that are buggered, most are over 20 years old though.

Guys like Farm & Trail (wreckers) used to do lower frames sections made off jigs, so cut out and weld straight in. Not sure if there's much call for the older stuff now tho', as you say 20+ yrs old.

Don't forget to remove rear axle and lube splines if you don't already know about this. Saves splines stripping and wrecking diff as well. Looking real good. Great effort.

A bit more done over the weekend. Just little bits to do like bleed the front brakes, change the oils, air cleaner and spark plug, recover the seat and buy a new battery.

I had a ct70 as a kid, great little bike. Carb was shagged though and couldn’t get parts in those days before trademe/eBay.

Would love to get one of these sorts of projects to Cerakote, have a trail bike frame coming and have done plenty of bike parts but not a full frame and parts yet... reckon it'd look great for a custom finish

Awesome job by the wat as well, come up well.
