    Being a cheap bastard...........

........I decided to make my own reactive targets for sighting rifles in.........

In the shops each target would cost approx $6.00

    My costs........
Corflute.....................Free. Used some old election signs that Labour put up on my fence without permission a couple of years ago and never collected.
    Self adhesive film........$5 for 5m ( Makes 10 signs @ 500x420, works out at 50c per sign)
Self adhesive dots Pack of 1050 for $11 ( 5 per sign works out at 5c)
Paint..........................Free ( Used up some old rattle cans I had for another job)
    30 mins labour............Free ( cos I am retired)
Total cost per sign = 55cents.

    Do they work?
    Results speak for themselves...

Group of 3 on the left are 7mm08 the ones below are .22 ( 100yds)

For those of you that have kids it could be a project for a winters day. They can customise them with stickers like these https://www.spotlightstores.com/nz/c...ker/BP80402824

BTW, the corflute can be reused, just stick film over the top of the used target, respray with paint and stick more dots on.....

They work well with air rifles if you use thin corflute ( The 5mm+ stuff may bounce back the pellets so field test it first.)

For old eyes, the 'hits' are very easy to see at up to 400+yds in the scope.....

    Excellent,
Just shows what we of a certain age can achieve with minimal materials. The time taken likely had a net benefit as well as the reduction of old paint tins cluttering up the garage. Sadly this seems to be a lost art for later generations. Well done Allgood.

Dont know.........................I havent hit one yet

Just kidding. If you dont see a white splash then its either in the dot or you missed the target completely..........Which means I get exercise walking up to check out the dot.......

Instead of Orange dots, put a piece of sellotape over it and spray them yellow, or better yet, do the whole target without the dots, then use a piece of something with a hole in it to spray a different colour dot on the black, that way it is white under the dot as well....

Don’t reallly know why you bothered painting as the effect would have been the same as shooting at the teeth

Nice one though will give that a crack. Cheers
