I still love my old Nikon scopes and this wee gem is a perfect match for the BLR.
I bowed out once you started bidding, My Bergara wanted that scope. But I happen to have shorter arms at present.

You probably already found out. But try to keep your shot strings low. Barrels get warm quick and then groups open up.
Think I had warne mounts on mine and they came in nice and low with the scope I have 4x32

Very aware, know a few people with BLR's all have offered the same advice "it'll heat up quickly" does make load development a bit tedious but not the end of the world, once I've nailed a load it'll likely never shoot more than 2 consecutive shots very often.

If you have the one rifle load development is a right pain. I’m feeling the pain lol.
Anyway I’d swap between rifles and leave the actions open to help with the cooling.

yeah just the one although I Could take my 223 or 22 just to fill in time while letting it cool down, and yup always leave the action open double purpose an open action cannot fire accidentally and it aids cooling

yup that also helps and generally do that too

sadly today it was way too windy to go shoot my load ladder, and I'm now on Night shift for the next 3 nights, but I may be able to sneak out Sunday afternoon weather pending otherwise it will be early next week

Search diy barrel cooler. Small fan or air pump connected to the correct brass.

good luck mate may the weather be nice on your days off. I had a 308 like the 1 at the bottem in the photo and put the hammer extenion on the left side being lefthanded so user friendly and i would highly recommend getting an extension it was my t/tree bashing sika slasher.

Well the weather gods smiled upon me today with a crisp calm day off, finally got back to the range with the BLR and my second ladder.
Got some good results and have settled on a load pending confirmation rounds.

    Results as below...
    45.5gn avg 2550fps with an S.D of 16.4fps
(This was best grouping load from previous ladder)

    47.2gn avg 2657fps S.D of 3.6fps

    47.4gn avg 2649fps S.D of 10.5fps

    47.6gn avg 2680fps S.D of 10.8fps

    47.8gn avg 2688 SD of 6fps

    48gn avg 2680fps S.D of 6.8fps

Groups tightened up at 47.4gn and that is where I will stop, got 3 shot group just under .5" and velocity 2649fps that's plenty good enough for this old Lever.
I'm going to load a few confirmation rounds but honestly I'll be happy if it's around 1" it's not a gong gun after all.

    Best group

Now it's sorted, true to form this will be listed up for sale I have offered it to @ANTSMAN first as he expressed an interest in it when I first bought it, once I have heard back from him if he doesn't want it I will list it up in the buysell section with all the dies, projectiles and loaded rounds. there will be a scope option (vx1 3-9x40) but I will be keeping the wee Monarch and the DPT.
Fun wee rifle but not really my area of interest.

also @The bomb in case your interested
