I have an agent in the US and get things sent to him and when there is enough for a package he boxes it up and sends it over. Have one on the way at the moment from 4 different suppliers. Needed some camel bone scales so added enough to make it worthwhile with carbide bits, sanding drums and filled up the box with more grinder belts and that was US$127 by Parcel Monkey but when you divide everything up against what I would pay for it in NZ (if I could get it here that is) it is still much more cost effective. Ceramic 2x72 belts from NZ sources are round the NZ$18 to $20 each where I get them from the US for US$5.50 or about NZ$8 so multiply that by 40 and you can see where the shipping costs dissapare into the background.

You depart with mighty boasts, but you come back having done little.
Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I’d imagine that would need cites approval to import ?
Von Gruff would probably know. I think I’ve seen it used on one of his knives.
The idea to look at ebony carvings/ figurines was a great idea.

While you are surfing the second hand shops look for old lawn bowls, made from Lignum Vitae a very hard wood.
