Thanks to @VXN222 or the rings. Clearances tested with the rough mount. V2 should have a more permanent/solid mount.

Is that to try and avoid the change in point of impact with the magnetospeed?

I'd be interested to see how it goes because I wonder if the magnetospeed also has an effect through altering the flow of gases being so close to the bullet path.

Yes to avoid barrel harmonic issues. I think it’s been proven that it won’t effect the path of a bullet. It’s about 8mm clearance from the bullet anyway.

I started an attempt at the same sort of project a few months ago. It was a poor attempt in a day and I gave up on it after butchering my Sporter bayonet

The bayonet really affects the poi on two of my rifles. Also the group sizes for my loads also.

Yeah about 3 MOA difference if strapped to the barrel.
