Ok fitting all done and as expected Garry lowered the top of the cheek piece to get a better fit for the peep sight

Bit of work to be done reshaping the pancake cheek piece and the just final finishing to come, guessing another few weeks and will be ready for installing front sight, barrel shortening and cerakoting

Really happy so far, by the looks of the samples Garty made up the final will be awesome. Apparently 2 other guys thought mannlichers would also be cool as they are ordering blanks

No African hardwood though, pretty hard, will turn out real cool when polished though so glad I got in first

Couple of links some other projects Garry has done

He bought that 577/450 off me, has done a great job on it! That had the best barrel, cordite proofed, I've ever seen on an MH

Ok so chopped and front sight fitted

Off to range tomorrow to check height of front sight, seems too high but will check on paper to get a better idea of what size to order

Next step will be coating, tossing up mil spec vs cerakote

Mil spec 350sh but 6-8 weeks
Cerakote 500sh and hopefully quicker turnaround

    Cheers
