    Mossberg 500 Shotgun repair....HELP !

    Hi guys, wasnt sure where to put this....my shottie was dropped getting out of a boat at the weekend, trigger guard broke off...

    took it apart, and the housing on each side of the pin that the trigger pivots on are deformed/broke (plastic) the pin was sheared (1/8th" dia replaced)

    Rang 5 gun shops in Jaffaville, no one has a replacment, to order one is between $4-5 hundy

    does anybody know 'someone' who repairs shotguns who might have a 2nd hand one for sale????? pics below showing damage....'rangi' epoxy resin repair job ??????

    Mmmm may not be a vg suggestion but wot about a panel beater ie plastic welding? They're able to do some pretty clever repairs now.

    cheers @zimmer i will see what pans out and keep that suggestion on the backburner....it still goes 'bang' in its present condition!!!!!!!

    Mite pay to phone some stores down south. I saw a 500 go for 300 on TM, look at all the extra parts plus a barrel to cut down

    they've got to be kidding on the price. This is the metal upgraded trigger group... Under 100 USD, so no issues with having it sent

    Good luck on them as they wouldn't send some little springs over to NZ.

    should be easy, they send most things, and its under $100... go for it I say.

    Just to add a bit of salt to your possibly wounded emotions, the trigger group broke on my 590, not through it being dropped, but the known weakness of the plastic (they usually break at the two lugs at the front where they locate into the receiver), I sent an email off to Mossberg with pics showing what happened, and they sent a replacement metal version. No permit or anything required, was 2 or 3 years ago.

    Email has gone off to Mossberg, if no joy Brownells 'metal' trigger group will be the go......dont want to replace it with plastic and it happens again!!!!!!!!

    Sweet FA from Mossberg, so ive just ordered one from Brownells (Aluminium solid machined block, fuk plastic) for $93 USD + shipping.....
