    Project P14 **Soon to start**

Just awaiting receipt of my Eddystone P14. Will create a blog on the restore progress. Looking to restore wood and barrrel back to a more original colour etc. Very excited. Just purchased on TM

Cool mate. Yeah i'm stoked to finally find one that hasn't been sporterised. This rifle is going to look beautiful when completed. The Casey birchwood tru-oil products are amazing. The guns have a glass like finish when they are complete.

It's your rifle so if course you can do what you like-and after seeing what you did on the last one I'm sure it will look fantastic -but just checking that you know that by refinishing it you will decrease it's collector value?

Not wanting to be a dick, just making sure you know

There is another on tardme that has been rebarreled that I would love to give your treatment to make a shooter out off-p14's do seem more accurate than lee Enfeilds

Yeah I have been wondering about whether to do it or not. :S It looks a little beat up that is the only thing but if it's going to be worth more then maybe I should leave it. Thanks for the post tho mate!

Hey, it's your rifle-do what you want. Just trying to make sure you make an informed choice.

Knowing the old owner it's probably a shooter as it is

Does anyone know anything about the experimental 20 round magazines you could get for the P14. I saw it in a book in Whitcoulls today. That would be pretty amazing it find one.

I might head down and take a photo to show you guys. That would be an awesome addition for service rifle shooting. I find it hard to use a stripper clip mid match. I always run out of time :S

The p14 is always going to be hard work in that department with its small mag.

With strippers- have you polished them? Are you loading them staggered or directional? Are you pulling it out or letting the bolt flick it out?
It can get fast with practice!

Would loooove a 20 round mag for a p14 but have never seen one

I think it's just the rush to reload knowing the timer is ticking. I usually load the clip with 3 to the back of the clip and 2 to the front. That seems to be the best method. I'm going to go take a photo of that magazine If I get time
