    Awesome, I love the built in flashlight and have a thing for short shotguns. The checkering looks pretty good, why arnt you happy with it?

    Cheers! I think deep down we all love a short shotgun.

    You're seeing the good side of the checkering. The machine had some backlash, so the lines aren't evenly spaced. Will probably end up carving it out and doing stippling.

    Do you have stippling punch or will you use the Dremel ball? Seems a no brainer to do stippling rather than checkering. A little mistake and the checkering is ruined.

    very tidy......now seen as though you are a machine type fella.....you could slip a barrel insert into that and make it very usefull...something like .45/70Name:  IMG_0002.JPG

    Have done a test with a dremel ball, the burr type rather than a cutter. It kind of sands the hole and burns it slightly which looks good. Also have a burning iron with lots of different ends.

    Will probably end up doing the ball, seems to be the easiest for a good result.

    Well done. I’m sure you would get enough interest from guys here to do a run of smle forewood and top woods. How many would you need to do to make it worthwhile? I assume you could scan an existing one
