    Kaori should work. Plenty of dead trees laying dead in the bush

    rewarewa/honeysuckle...it has grain not unlike oak and when seasoned is harder than laminated or even aussie hardwoods.

    The only slabs/beams I have lying around are rimu Kauri and aussie red gum ...... the wife has a piece of antique furniture made of rewarewa....... don't think she will let me harvest the wood from that tho
