Speaking of baling twine.one idea I saw many years ago and haven't since was a ring worn on Saturday night finger with a claw type blade on it sticking out. You could cut bale twine easily with it but carry on doing whatever else without having to remove it and put it in safe place, only to need it again two minutes later. Blade was at right angles to body of ring sort of like end of docking knife poking up between your knuckles.
