How did you find it mate, easy enough?
Is that Heat shrink on the shaft bellow the head?

I'm not a woodworker - much more comfortable with metal - so few learning curves in regards to splitting and working with grains. Once its taken off it does not seem to go back on!
Also getting both sides even seemed annoyingly difficult - ie matching up curves...
Its a small piece of leather wrapped around and then tacked in place.
Rimu...... mate stripped a whole lot out of a place and let me pick through the stuff he had salvaged, grabbed enough for a few handles and some knive/file handles I want to make.
Got this one done up over the past few days. Similar shape with the head to the last, and forced a full patina this time with boiled vinigar. Manuka for the shaft, getting better with the refining for the shape.
The young fella will be over the moon I suspect.
