    Farmlands have always done it and so does PGG Wrightson, I have had gunshops do it before also. Theres no legal requirement for them to do it, theres also no legal requirement for them to sell anything to you either, so its a case of dont like it then dont go there. The policy was originally put in place so that they can cover their ass and prove that every box of ammunition they sell has gone to a legitimate licence holder.

    Reloaders asked for my licence when I bought some powder and projectiles a few weeks back. First time I have ever been asked for that.

    So it's not a legal requirement, just an ass-covering exercise aye. No surprise in todays environment I guess. I am used to having my Approved Handler certificate details recorded when I buy certain agrichemicals at PGG and Farmlands.

    Barefoot...yes our local NPD service station sells a good little selection of rimfire, shotgun and most popular centrefire ammo. Also camo gear, knives and fishing stuff!

    Always get asked for my licence when getting black powder as its an explosive.
