    C2191 6mm steel safe

Needing a new safe and going to future proof and do an ecat, came across the plans by police engineering (plan c2191) wondering if anyone has tackled one of these before, any handy tips?
    Cheers

Can you put up pics? If so I based my build off the old police style safe

I built my own as one unit with 2 lockable internal compartments to take pistols and ammo (since gone to bigger ammo storage) but for what it's worth I used farm gate style hinges to hang the door externally so that it could be taken off separately for transport
When closed it has angled pieces that keep it inside the frame so cutting the hinges off is no use to a crim

Make it bigger and longer than you think you need - mine took 2 sheets

Folding the back corners is cool, I'd recommend some small rectangular section around the door to ensure that it is recessed

1 sheet will have to do that's what's here, it'll end up being part of a larger lockable cabinet.

Most of my stuff is pretty short so should be alright. All marked out and I'll slice it up and press it Monday
Might follow your advice with the door frame or make it out of something abit heavier

Okay so finally got around to building this! Not exactly as the plans, but similar construction, not quite as deep and stronger door and frame.
2 separately keyed 7 lever locks external hinges with 16am pins, dogging bars inside. Should hold 8-10..fingers crossed.
Holy shit there's ALOT of weld in the thing..should pass ecat inspecRion no worries, total cost was about $390

Glue a bit of foam inside the bottom of the door. I dinged the heel of a rifle the other day and that's going to be fixed next time that door gets opened.
