So with the register review said to occur between June and December, in theory we should be hearing more about this soon.

I thought I recalled reading it was going to take 6 months, so of it started June 1st the December 1st is when we should hear more.

I wonder what the chances of hearing something next month are?

Mark Mitchell stated on TV a couple of months ago that the register will not be abolished under the current leadership.

I doubt anyone thinks the register will be abolished.

What we all wish for is that the operation of it be removed from Police hands and given over to some other organisation that isnt heavily biased against us. And that it be made much more user friendly in the process.

Too late for me - had to renew my licence ergo had to register my guns.

We might go back to partial registration, but I agree that it's unlikely to be removed totally.

There's no way the register is going to disappear.
B, C and E (rip), P cat always (last few decades atleast) needed to registered so that'd never going to change.

The new system is at minimum going to cover those guns that previously needed registration.

I'm not holding my breath on full registration going away but at the moment there is still that chance, hence why so many people have waited until now.

Ith current scheme, as of next year buying ammo will be a activating event. So if this review says the system stays I think many people will be decide to just bite the bullet and register their stuff.

If you buy ammo from a dealer they will notify the FSA just like they do now if you buy a rifle etc. by the time you get home from the shop there will be an email waiting for you to advise you of this. I've just got my RealMe ID updated in preparation for my rego date.

So, one guy with a registered firearm is buying ammo for all his non registered mates... or ammo for his registered 223 to use in his unregistered 223...?

    Just call me a cynic....
