I have always remembered what a friend of mine told me years ago when he made an inquiry at a NZ government department.....The reply from the public servant was...."Don't ask me i only work here".

I recently got a import permit which took a month to approve.
It was assessed by someone (admittedly very helpful and friendly) within two days, then spent the rest of the time waiting to be approved by the supervisor.
You would think the assessment would be the time consuming part and the final tick in the box the easy bit. When asked for an update after 2 weeks got the old "we are back logged" excuse.
I also for the second time (when applying for a permit) had to explain what a "chassis" is when refering to a rifle stock, which is concerning as not only is it a common term nowdays but also becasue they had the make and model of the chassis on my permit and could've Googled it quicker than emailing/phoning me...
I went into Spark in Silverdale one day to sort an issue with our company account. They were beyond incompetent. Eventually the branch manager said, and I'll never forget it, "don't bother moving to Vodafone, I used to work there and they are just as bad as us".
What an advert - "buy from us, coz the opposition is shit too".
I'm afraid I hold people - especially those in positions that can cause others real harm (and that sorta includes the Police, don't you think?), to a higher standard.
Not wanting to get into a big discussion about the registration but has anything official been released about it or have I missed it?
We are only a few months away from it being implemented and as far as I am aware nothing official about its implementation and what FAL holders are supposed to do.
Bloody hopeless Ross aye. Cant even spell your name correctly!!
Can you imagine what is going to happen in the future...............
I emailed them a while back to get my contact details updated, they never even bothered to reply.
If you can't kill it with bullets, dont f*ck with it.

‘Many of my bullets have died in vain’
Funny isn't it, a week ago in Parliament newly minted Minister of Police, Ginny Andersen, stated no decisions have been made on the new Licencing Fees Regime, it would appear Police National HQ disagree with her. LaFOs need to disengage with the NZ Police wholesale over this nonsense. Enough is enough.
