At least you'll never get into drugs, all your money will be going into shooting stuff instead

A great response would be "Sure, if you can tell me how you intend to store and protect my information, what you intend to use the information for, and how you will notify me if you lose this information, and how you intend to dispose of the information once you no longer need it". I've used this in all sorts of situations including those wankers in the shops that don't want to give you a printed receipt - so for 100% have decided that answering my question is far to much work.

Haha, I have read through dozens of those threads on this forum already. I already bought a 308 many months ago, which has been held in someone elses possession waiting.

    Already did that! https://www.nzhuntingandshooting.co....y-308-a-94437/
I've been on this forum for a while now, already covered those basics haha

In reality though, I think the 85 finnlight ii 308 is a bit too flash harry for me to learn with. I am seriously contemplating selling it and buying something more basic. So I may start a thread asking about less expensive rifles.

IMO you'll regret selling a Finnlight in any calibre

You can pick up an old Parker Hale conversion of a 303 or 270 /308 around the place for not much, say $400 sometimes if you want to start with something you can bash around

As an alternative point of view, if you start yourself on using good gear then you will make less mistakes and endure less frustration because your equipment will be letting you down less

My wife & I recently had our "vetting" interviews for my license renewal.
Very short, surprisingly so, for both of us`.
More on fit & proper (& sanity & any risk of domestic violence) than firearms rules.
Had to open safes, was recommended to move ammo safe keys off the gun safes keyring - reasonable request but didn't fail on that.
No effort nor interest in seeing serial numbers.
Interviews & safe inspection done and dusted in 20 minutes.

Also had a chat about when one might have to register one's firearms.
Vetter was less informed, less knowledgeable, than I expected.

Funny thing was he didn't visually check how the safes were bolted.
Just checked for the bolt heads.
Couldn't saved time & effort and just epoxied the cut off bolt heads under the carpet in the safes.

Our safe is in bedroom wardrobe. They aren't that interested in looking at it let alone in it on inspections. Dunno if its got anything to do with wifes lingere etc hanging in front of it...

Hang up a few dog collars and leads-maybe a cattle prod. Make the inspector blush

Keep it, don't forget that you'll need a .22LR as well.
Oh well start a suppressor thread then

Do `t worry. the interview is all about your references and your attitudes. If you could answer right for what you are going to buy for what use in where for what you like most, then you are fine.
