Depends on how much safe you want. a ten gun can be had for a few hundred in 3mm steel, but if you need/want a heavier one, you could be out 500-600.....

Divide the stated number of guns by 2. That will give you an idea of what will fit in easily.

This my 14 gun safe does not hold anywhere near 14 with out risking damage to everything more like 6 if you don't want to be constantly moving stuff to get at other stuff, works the same where I work. Salesman's says............................"its plug and play"............................actual workers say to customer while cleaning up mess ..............................."um did they really tell you that?"

This is the gold standard https://tsl-and-select-engineering.m...ts/lorem-ipsum

Of you want a cat, then shop around for something with the thickest wall thickness you can find. Many are down to 1.5mm steel in the sides. I hot one from gun city of all places that was 3mm all round (walls and door), as a temporary measure when I knew I was moving house. Expect 600 plus.

Go for a key or tumbler. Avoid digital.

I always take 2 guns off specified size if you like your guns, the larger safes count places on the sides which does not work for scoped rifles, spika are nicerinside than stealth, H&f are crap, thickness of most are really irrelevant its the locks that matter, and with them all don,t lose the keys, nearly impossible to replace.
