Absolutely no excuse for his actions, no mater how much we may agree with him on the light sentence (total wet bus ticket).
He kept the rest of his portfolios. plenty time for him to make more bad press.
‘Facts don’t care about your feelings’
Maybe his hair dye seeped in and gave him some brain damage.
As opposed to this guy, who got 80 hours community service (can't remember exactly, it's behind the herald paywall) for reporting his guns were stolen to be able to keep them from the buyback.. Oh, and he was a serving policeman. Why didn't Fasc Nash get involved in this case one wonders?

Identify your target beyond all doubt
So apparently Nash has done this sort of thing before, where he commented on a court case in 2020 and the Solicitor General was considering prosecuting Nash - but the Attorney General decided not to - the AG was David Parker (was on Newstalk ZB, on the Herald now).
saw that on news...and AGAIN he said something that 99% of us would agree with.....

People who get undue light sentance, espially for such serious things, that you and I would have got jail time for, have often thrown other ppl under a bus for it. Happens all the time and never info that is released.

Entering this conversation, having stirred up all manner of opinions, about Judges and their discretionary rulings, in a previous post.
I find it amusing that it’s now making a mockery of politicians, some deservedly stupid ones tripping over their own feet, other showing a lack of comprehension of the rules. Bit like reading a MAD magazine, Dukes of Hazard County here we come.
P.S Lucky he declined the Fight for life invitation, knock yourself out, he would have punched himself in the head.
The problem is it is fine for us (joe public) to sit on our couch and pass judgement. But he is a crown minister, and any influence (perceived or real) could result in a mistrial and the guy getting away free. As a crown minister he is held to a higher standard of behaviour for a very good reason.
We hear it all the time "I cannot comment on matters before the courts" from ministers for good reason.
