    Thoughtful 2007 article ending in Investigate Magazine I came across while looking up stuff:

    "As for the shooters in the latest tragedies, Davies and Alker have both been jailed for nine months. The men were sentenced in the Taupo District Court on 20 May after each admitted carelessly using a firearm causing death. Judge Chris McGuire also ordered Davies and Alker to pay $5000 each in reparation to the victims’ families. Davies is likely to appeal his sentence, but Alker has ruled out that option – he has publicly stated that after shooting his best mate he now carries a life sentence."

    Just curious as to how many people have been shot in the bush or duck hunting and have it being blamed on it was an accident when it was actually deliberate? I know a man who once shot his son in law in the arse duck shooting supposedly by accident but I know he did not like him, the inlaw did not die, but just curious as to how many are fuck it you need it.?

    I’m sorry, am I missing something. ?

    In not so many words I was merely stating facts. Info I read suggested a shotgun was involved, may have been on Stuff...incorrect.

    They seemed like nice guys, when they shared the Squirrel with us last Wednesday.
    Just a couple of mates going for a hunt. Then it all unraveled.

    Second hand story but a mate went duck shooting once with a couple of guys that got bored and pissed mid morning, went to opposite ends of the paddock and walked towards each other firing until they could feel the shot bouncing off them. Not quite the situation you're talking about but I bet if that went badly it would have been reported as an accident! Needless to say I don't think he went shooting with them again.

    You can get a shotgun that has what you call a drilling. This is where one of the our more of the barrels has been chambered in the caliber of your choice. Name: 7AC33259-24FD-4E70-B18B-4F59126D93E7.jpeg

    Sorry mate, in retrospect I was being ambiguous there, I intended no criticism of your (just fine IMHO) posting. Shooting your mate, getting shot by your mate - nothing to "like" about that, that's all I meant. Not about the quality of the post but about our forum missing a "heartbreaking" response button.

    @Sideshow

    German for twin: Zwilling. German for triplet: Drilling. The Luftwaffe carried Drillings in their survival gear for operations over "Afrika". An expensive piece of kit with lions and charging elephants in mind, but of little use in North Africa, a.k.a. the Sahara.
