I think we'd all prefer robust debate rather than some guaranteed freedom from ever getting offended.
There's a reason this dude has been added to a large number of "ignore lists"...

Yes, suppose so, but with a definite sense of pity.

People who upset us sometimes do so for a good reason. Sometimes it is that our reality needs to get challenged and we don't like that. Sometimes we are just simply in the wrong. And because we feel strongly about something does not make it/us any more correct about it.

Socrates supposedly said, An unexamined life is not worth living. Saying that, he was a pain in the butt and the good Athenians eventually made him drink hemlock. Suppose they did not have ignore buttons back then.

...cut it out - this dude is a prize cock - I suggest you read through a history of his posts: you will see a troll pattern; together with a deserved ban for some of his behaviour.
Happy to debate, and be challenged - but you have to respect the person putting up the debate...and based on prior behaviours, many of us struggle with that...

Cool story - but you too seem to be a bit prickly when challenged; nothing personal but you should reflect on your own responses too...

I know varying my route home may seem some what over the top but where I live I have a choice of 4 different roads to take off the main drag
the distance is the same so it is no problem and I don't get bored driving the same road all the time, you should at least have a plan for if you are ever
followed, lucky one of my routes is past the Police station that is plan A.

I applaud all for doing everything they can to secure their firearms, that's what you SHOULD do.
However, not everyone lives in the same circumstances as you and not all your options are available to them and the same can be said about the next guy who can afford a private fort with 24/7 guards and you.

I've got 24/7 Security guards on site, well most times. Plus surveillance, plus Fang x 1.5.

As i once said to a security guy TRYING TO SELL ME a vastly overvalued system which had proven a big failure in aussie.
    my security is multilayered
    first the dog
big bastard -if he dont lick you to death hell dry hump you into submission-now the cats-well they dont like anyone except daughters so chances are ya could get in strife ,
the bird he never shuts up capable of screaming serratone off a bathroom wall, will let the dead in the cemetery half a mile away know some prick is ferreting round on the property
finally my wife-the last words an arsehole wil lhear"what flowers would you like on your funeral wreath""
he didnt make a sale(my brother who worked for a big insurance firm in aussie knew about these wiseguys and had warned me out.

the reality is folks in this day and age ,there are those for whom "Iwant it"is lifes mantra"and they spend all their waking time fixated on that.the only cure is death and one hopes the casket aint been stolen.

    Peace to you, man!

I recall that "Peace Through Superior Firepower" slogan on a T-shirt back in the early 1980s - it featured an UZI SMG. Back then that T-shirt was an antithesis to the CND, except it did not show a nuke (that would have been too thought provoking...).

Actually, I somewhat disagree with it now. You don't have to have superior power, fire power or otherwise, for peace. A country just needs sufficient power to make it obvious to even journalists that it's just not worthwhile to take you on.

Afghanistan has slowly been getting that message through, all the while leading the UK to sad new heights in the Special Olympics. North Korea does not appear to have reached that threshold ... but maybe journalist training can be improved. Ignorant media is a powerful, war-mongering tool: in the USA on one hand they'll flap on about gun control and on the other whip up the conflict with North Korea.
