I can't see why a good coating of lithium grease won't do it.

I have put CorrosionX on the date stamp on a gas bottle sitting on the rear deck of a boat. Where they stamp the test date the galv is removed so we are talking about bare steel exposed to the marine environment as an experiment. Three months later it was still shiny with no rust on it.

The US navy use it to protect firearms sitting on the deck of a navy ship totally exposed to the elements with no other protection. Everything else either needs cleaning before use or aren't as effective.

    Correct.

I have one that fits like a glove, but have to modify it to make it legal again...... ( versamax ) can shoot 100's in a day and not even a sore shoulder

I was gob-smacked at how user-friendly, a well-fitting s/gun is. Mine hasnt even got a pad, and I hate high-recoil firearms. Too-high wad pressure can make them boot too
