Ha, hardly. I live and work in Auckland, but have a hard time accepting the fact, so I always go home to the Waikato as often as I can, and still put all my addresses down there as it's easier due to my potentially unstable living situations in Auckland. Really hoping to find a place in the Waikato where I can commute to Auckland, and not have to live there!
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Surely a common sense approach answers your question, as it does with most legal questions. Firstly, the vetting process when applying for a FAL must verify you have a compliant gunsafe at your residence (the legal address you live and have mail sent to (Waikato))...box tick. Secondly, do you, or will you ever possess or store any firearms at your Auckland address? No? Then it's irrelevant and perfectly arguable in court (if any AO's boss ever let it get to that point, which is HIGHLY unlikely). However, get caught with, or report a firearm being stolen at or from your Auckland address, fool you I guess
Well had the Arms officer over to my address in Auckland to interview me about a friend applying for his gun licence.
Turn's out that since they have tightened up all the rules recently you do have to have a safe storage place at any address you live at.
The AO was very reasonable though and helpful. I ended up just screwing a eye end bolt into the wall in a cupboard, which I then have a padlock in.
This was considered sufficient, so I was happy as it cost me $2 to do it. To bad I'm never going to use it.
That has been sufficent since I did my licence fucking years ago @beetrrot , cause that all I had then.
The words common sense and legal should never be used in the same sentence.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
308Win One chambering to rule them all.
Haha. Personally I disagree with that VC, but each to their own experience
