The OP asked about E endorsements. But if you only have A’s, I’d just give them one - that’s enough

I just say no thank you, there is no requirement to give them.
And that I have them recorded both in images and a spreadsheet for insurance purposes.

If you don't have any endorsements then you don't have to give any numbers at all, just show that the safe is securely mounted

So you don't have to open the a cat safe to show how it's mounted? The fella who inspected mine asked and I opened it only for him to write down what I have. No serial numbers but still.

give em the option of a polite refusal and nothing else.
If we are expected to live to the letter of the law, THEN SO CAN THEY.

A mate had the Arms act and regs with him during such a visit and asked the mensa man to show him which statutory authority he relied on. Needless to say the visit took a different tone. The police took the High Court whipping very personally especially when told Parliament makes the laws not them. That is why the Police HG is known as BS castle.

First part wrong, second part right.
There is no requirement for a safe for "A" firearms. That is a choice you make. The requirement is for a container, or receptacle of stout construction, to lock your firearms in when they are not under your immediate supervision.
There is no requirement anywhere in the regulations requiring that said lockable cabinet, container, or receptacle of stout construction has to be bolted to the building structure, or a condition that the contents of said lockable cabinet, container, or receptacle of stout construction be recorded.
You are merely required to have said lockable cabinet, container, or receptacle of stout construction available to you on your premises for when you are required to lock up a firearm.
The police tell enough lies without us repeating their bullshit.

    (
    2) On and after 1 July 1993 the reasonable steps required by subclause
    (1)(c) shall include—
    (a) keeping on the holder’s premises—
    (i) a lockable cabinet, container, or receptacle of
stout construction in which firearms may be
    stored; or
(ii) a lockable steel and concrete strongroom in
which firearms may be stored; or
(iii) a display cabinet or rack in which firearms may
be immobilised and locked so that none of them
    may be fired; and
    (b) keeping locked or immobilised and locked in the cabinet,
    container, receptacle, strongroom, display cabinet,
or rack required by paragraph (a) every firearm which
is on the holder’s premises and which is not under immediate
and personal supervision of the holder or some
other holder of a firearms licence; and
    14
    Reprinted as at
    11 December 2013 Arms Regulations 1992 r 22
    (c) ensuring that no firearm in the holder’s possession is left
in a vehicle that is unattended.
