Police don't need fast shiny cars. Since they are trying to avoid high speed chases they should go back to the bicycle. Good grief, some of the front line guys I've seen look like they could do with the exercise.

In all honesty bicycles would be good, help get them back into community policing. They need to work more with the community, including the firearms community, to reduce crime. Start at the bottom and they won't be so busy at the other end of the spectrum.

you are onto it mate. that will work on all fronts. I suggest the cops target low level crime (young kids etc and petty theft and so on etc etc) and make a point of enforcing the shit out of it, making people pay dearly for small 'gateway crimes' before bad habits develop into lifestyles.

And that goes for driving manners too. Not indicating, no lights, running for the orange light, following just that wee bit too close, pulling wide right before turning left, touching the center line (not to mention those assholes who cross it because they are obviously doing 270km/h and need the extra tarmac to stay on the road. amateurs....)

Ps @systolic can you chime in on this and tell me and everyone else how wrong I am. Thanks.

I'll second that nomination. Not sure on the likelihood of his success though, he is logical, can think,... and doesn't spout off screeds of nonsense.
